God Is Not Dead, He Lives in the Cloud takes Nietzsche’s declaration that “God is dead” and drags it into the age of the internet. Instead of disappearance, this painting suggests relocation. Jesus appears as a meme, giving a thumbs up, as if divinity has not vanished but migrated into digital culture. If Nietzsche saw the collapse of old belief, this work asks what has replaced it. The cloud becomes a new unseen realm, storing memory, identity, and longing. God has not been buried but instead, he’s been uploaded.
